In April 2023, we received a commission from the insurance company to provide medical transfer services for a Filipino crew member from Ningbo to Manila. The crew member was receiving treatment for colon cancer at a hospital in the Ningbo Development Zone.
We immediately assessed the patient’s condition and provided the optimal transfer plan. The insurance company approved our plan and promptly initiated the transfer service.
Our nurse traveled from Shenzhen to Ningbo and visited the patient that evening to check on his health status. Due to the large size of the tumor, there was a risk of rupture and bleeding at any moment. After communicating with the attending physician, we prepared the necessary medications and ensured that the patient’s condition was suitable for air travel.
The next morning, our nurse accompanied the patient in a business vehicle to Ningbo Airport. Since the flight from Ningbo to Manila required a transfer in Hong Kong, and there was no business class available on the Ningbo to Hong Kong flight, we successfully arranged three adjacent seats for the patient through the nurse’s professional skills, allowing him to lie flat and rest during the flight to avoid any jostling.
For the Hong Kong to Manila leg of the journey, we had already arranged business class for both the patient and the nurse, ensuring the patient received the best care during the transfer process.
At 4:30 PM that afternoon, we successfully delivered the patient to Manila and handed him over to the family members waiting in Manila.
